Bond Coat and Joint Spraying

BOND COAT SPRAYING

From our depot at Dunkeld, Perthshire we offer the hire of bond coat sprayers operated by our experienced and efficient drivers on sites throughout Scotland and northern England. The bond coat supplied and sprayed is cationic polymer modified bitumen emulsion to BS EN 13808 (50% bitumen content). For large contracts, however, we can offer the supply and spray of alternative products.

Our sprayers are tested annually by an independent UKAS accredited testing house at our spraybar test facility in Dunkeld to ensure the accurate distribution of bond coat. This calibration is carried out in accordance with BS 1707:2018.

We also have a limited number of sprayers to offer for self-drive on long term hires.

JOINT SPRAYING

Joints between adjoining bituminous courses are vulnerable to degradation through the ingress of water. To prevent water penetrating into the joints it is important that the vertical joint faces are sealed with bitumen.

A number of our bond coat sprayers are fitted with equipment to spray hot bitumen at the rate of up to 4kg/m along these vertical faces. This is a service that we find is becoming increasingly in demand.
